Belonging to a respectable family of Union Council Tirat in Upper Swat, Engineer Mian Shahid Ali has urban as well as rural background.
The son of Dr. Shaiber Mian, former Medical Superintendent of Saidu Group of Hospitals in Swat and the grandson of Late Mutabar Mian, an associate of the late ruler of Swat, Engineer Mian Shahid Ali got his degree in Civil Engineering from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa University of Engineering, Peshawar.

After his graduation, Engineer Mian Shahid Ali took part in politics and he ws elected elected as the Nazim of Union Council Tirat and Member District Council Swat. But having an inclination towards the social sector, Mr. Mian Shahid Ali joined the Environmental Protection Society, the first ever NGO in Swat. Afterwards, he joined Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) Swat and worked as Manager in the authority.
Right now, Engineer Mian Shahid Ali is a volunteer of the Environmental Protection Society as well as QAFELA.
Because of his background, his dedication towards the service of humanity, his skills and his experience in WASH Sector, Engineer Mian Shahid Ali is a vlueble asset of QAFELA.
